This generation is famous for its efforts in advocating for women and promoting women empowerment. Ideally, advocating for women means they are being encouraged to speak up, make their voice heard, and stand their ground. With the trending story about the Canadian actress Kim Cattrall being the sole reason for the cancellation of the filming of the third Sex and the City movie, the idealism about supporting and advancing women’s role in society, especially their careers, is easier said than done.

Today, I’m going to share an example of the contradiction of this notion about supporting women’s ambitions through the story of the Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall. I’m going to share the efforts she made to reach out, salvage the film, and at the same time pursue what’s best for her. I also provide advice on how you can respond to criticism for advancing what you think is best for you, your business, or your career.

Surround yourself with people who support your ambition,  who can hold space for not just who you’ve been and not just who you are, but for who you are becoming.

Today on the Fierce Feminine Leadership Podcast:

  • Women’s conflicting feelings about other women’s ambition
  • What others say about Kim Cattrall killing the third Sex and the City movie
  • Explaining the contradiction in Kim Cattrall’s situation
  • What happens when women get visible

Strategies When Dealing with Criticism:

  1. Keep going.
  2. If others are unhappy because of your career growth or the decisions you make, say to yourself, ”They’re just going to have to feel that way.”
  3. Release your attachment to people who undermine you and your ambition.
  4. Find a new judging jury.
