Are you struggling to get more clients? Have you gone into debt in order to launch your business – an idea you are incredibly passionate about and are finding it difficult to achieve success or grow? You may be thinking to yourself, “If I keep an abundance mindset, it will all work out in the end.”

On today’s show, I want to discuss the abundance mindset and why you can’t ‘abundance mindset’ your way into a smart business strategy. Growing a business requires a variety of tasks and having this mindset can certainly help – it is not the “be all, end all” solution to building a successful business and career.

If you build your business on an ‘abundant mindset’ without a solid plan, you’re building it on very shaky ground.

Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:

  • It’s critical that you have a positive relationship with money and cultivate an abundance mindset, but it is not the only thing you need to build a solid, successful business.
  • Business is like a language. You have to know how it is structured.
  • When it comes to the critical success factor in your business, it comes down to sales and marketing.
  • Business is a game of strategy.
  • You can’t grow your business by continually investing in your technical skills or becoming super tactical about everything.
  • There are three ways to grow a business. If you choose one of the three, you will experience geometric growth. If you choose two or more, you will experience significant growth.

The 3 Ways to Grow a Business:

  1. Get more clients.
  2. Increase the average unit of sale or average transaction. (i.e.: increase your rates)
  3. Increase the frequency of purchase.

My Challenge to You:

  • Focus on strategies that help you execute on one or more of the three ways to grow your business.
  • If you do not have a clear path to one of those three strategies starting tomorrow – stop what you’re doing and focus on clearing that path.

Have you ever found yourself saying “This shouldn’t be this difficult?” Have you ever caught yourself feeling frustrated while trying to make an important decision or find a solution to a problem?

One of the most exciting things I experience as a coach while working with clients who are fierce, high-performing feminine leaders is that each month I can almost always spot a trend. This month’s trend with many of my clients have been that these fierce, strong, capable women are experiencing a phenomena called “Limiting Thought.”

So, today on the show, I want to share a story with you. A story about something that happened to me not too long ago that made me realize that I, too, was experiencing the ‘limiting thought’ phenomena. I’m going to share with you what I did to overcome it, and why it is so important that you connect with your own inner tough love mentor during times when you are experiencing the limiting thought phenomena.

Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:

  • The phenomena called “limiting thought” is a specific belief or belief system that blinds you – paralyzes you – to what is actually possible. It makes you believe a false sense of reality.
  • Our beliefs are by far the greatest limitations we face.
  • Hard things often fool us into believing that you no longer want what you said you wanted.
  • Don’t live the lie that you don’t want something just because it’s hard. Doing hard things builds character, gives you experience that others don’t have. If you want something – give it your best effort. You can do hard things.

My Challenge to You:

  • Think about a time in your life when there was something that you really wanted, but you pushed it off because it was hard.
  • Clearly identify what it is that you want and determine why you want it.
  • Find your inner Shaniqua – do what it is you really want to do, regardless of fear or limiting thought.

There is a lot of content created and published across the internet that is meant to help women, business executives, and entrepreneurs find a higher sense of success; to inspire and empower them to achieve their dreams. But there’s one piece of advice that is fundamentally important, yet rarely talked about.

Owning what you know. Living with conviction.

Dolly Parton defined it best when she said that the life of conviction “is about figuring out who you are and doing it on purpose.”

Today, I want to share with you why knowing who you are, knowing what you know, and projecting confidence, conviction, and staying clear on your point of views is vitally important to the overall success of your life, your business, your career.

Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:

  • The state of knowing has a deep impact on your ability to break through and uplevel your business and career.
  • Owning what you know is the fundamental key to having greater impact and influence with your clients, colleagues, and other influencers.
  • Influential people want to hire, promote, and buy from women who project confidence, conviction, and have a clear point of view.

When You Own What You Know:

  • You feel less overwhelmed
  • You project greater energy
  • You are seen as a credible expert in your field
  • You have a broader impact
  • You are able to command more money and access to more opportunities

My Challenge to You:

  • Let go of the things that are holding you back from owning what you know.
  • Be clear about what you want – and go after it.

Special Announcement:

This Fall, I have two private coaching spots open!

If you are ready to:

  • Own your ambitions.
  • Transform your sense of self to make room for success and self-significance
  • Create & CRUSH your goals to create a legacy you are proud of

I speak with countless Fierce Feminine Leaders every day. These are highly successful, motivated, driven women with great achievements under their belt, but often feel stuck in whatever it is they are doing.

They may be unhappy because they want to achieve greater things; they yearn for something more, something different, something meaningful, but they struggle with making the decision to go after what they want.

Ladies, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – we give our power away when we avoid making decisions.

On today’s episode, I want to talk to you about how to get “unstuck” in your life, your business, your career. I want to help you move past whatever is holding you back, whatever has you feeling stuck. I want to empower you to determine what it is that is holding you back, and figure out how to get out of the quicksand that is limiting your sense of success.

Areas where women often give their power away:

  • Deciding to start a side business
  • Deciding to pivot their business into a new area
  • Deciding to invest in a new training program
  • Deciding to take a sabbatical
  • Deciding to go on a trip or on vacation
  • Deciding to recommit to their health
  • Deciding to train for a marathon

Take a look at where you’re making decisions – or not making decisions. Then, close the loops. – Eleanor Beaton

Ask Yourself:

  • Where in my life right now am I not making decisions?
  • What do I really want?
  • What limiting beliefs or mental thoughts do I need to declutter, let go of, and close the loop on?

My Challenge to You:

  • Get quiet with yourself
  • Think about where in your life you are not making decisions or avoiding making decisions
  • Get out there and make a decision around it.

The quality of your life and your experience is directly connected to your willingness to make decisions – and own them!

Have you ever been in the situation where you are the expert, but you don’t feel like you are presenting yourself as an expert? Perhaps you feel like people are doubting your expertise even though you know deep down that you are an expert in your field – you know your stuff.

This happens a lot for high-performing, high-achieving women – especially when they are in the early years of growing their business.

So, what can you do to improve your communication and deliver the message that you are the high-achieving expert in your field?

Provide statistics.

On today’s show, I explain how knowing your killer statistics and how sharing those statistics with your audience can help you drive home the message that you are trying to deliver as well as where you can research to find relevant numbers about your topic or area of expertise if you are unsure of what those numbers are.

“When you have the relevant numbers about the industry or problem you are trying to solve – your point of view, your argument, becomes very difficult to dismiss.” – Eleanor Beaton

Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:

  • What are “killer statistics?”
  • What are some examples of statistics to use in your communication strategy?
  • Why are statistics so important in everyday and business communication?
  • Where can you go to gather information and research statistics in your industry, field, or on the topic you are going to discuss?
  • How many statistics should you have for your presentation, speech, in your marketing or workshops?
  • Where to use your killer statistics within your business?

Where to Use Your Killer Statistics:

  • In your speeches
  • In your workshops
  • In your marketing plans
  • On your LinkedIn profile
  • In your everyday conversations
  • Simply put…. use them everywhere!

My Challenge to You:

Find your killer statistics. Use them in everything you do for your business or career.

Are you ready to make a change in your life, your career, or your business? I’m talking about really ready to unlock your potential - to step into your power and achieve your dreams?

  • The Law of Attraction is a load of B.S. if it’s not accompanied with the Law of Congruency.
  • Actions speak louder than words. If you want something, you have to act on it. It doesn’t happen by magic.
  • Harboring self-doubt and fear negatively impacts your growth.
  • The key to living in congruence is having the ability to call your own bluff, committing to attaining your goals, and performing the actions necessary to achieve them.

4 Examples of Committing Yourself To YOU:

  • Cut back on your children’s extracurricular activities like sports and cheerleading to commit time for yourself.
  • Commit to investing in the accountability and support you need to actually launch the new product you’ve been talking about, planning, and designing for weeks, months, years.
  • Commit to getting the coaching you need to move past your fears and achieve the success you’ve been dreaming about.
  • Discipline yourself to make time for your own important activities. Make time for you before everyone else.

Today, I’m joined by one of the most inspirational women I know throughout the business and finance industry, Barbara Stanny. I have followed her work for many years, and, after reading her book Sacred Success: A Course in Financial Miracles, I was inspired so much by the information and insight she shared that I just had to reach out and ask her to be a guest on the show.

Barbara is a highly successful female in the finance industry. She is a best-selling author, having authored six books, is a highly-sought after speaker and coach, workshop facilitator, and has spent years as a journalist writing in the financial niche. She grew up in a wealthy family; her father is the “H” in H&R Block, but after a devastating financial bout due to her husband’s gambling addiction – she lost all of her inheritance and was forced to figure out her own path to financial freedom.

Today, Barbara shares her journey through the ups and downs of her financial success, the fears she had to overcome, and the inspiration she is determined to use to empower other women to gain control over their life, their power, and their financial freedom.

“When you learn to face what you fear; it can never control you again.” – Barbara Stanny

Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:

  • What does “Sacred Success” mean?
  • How has Barbara discovered sacred success?
  • What is the significance of the “dark night” in the soul when it comes to achieving success?
  • What is the difference between surrendering and having a lack of perseverance?
  • Why didn’t Barbara have the courage to write the book Sacred Success: A Course in Financial Miracles earlier in her career?
  • What changed her relationship with her power throughout her journey toward sacred success?
  • How has she claimed her power?
  • How does she want to be remembered in the world?
  • How does she set goals for herself?
  • What is the difference between a goal and an intention?
  • What big things can women do to gain control over their finances?
  • The Law of Attraction vs. the Law of Congruence
  • The difference between the “profit motive” and the “comfort motive.”
  • What internal shift did Barbara need to make to reach the 7-figure goal she set for herself?
  • Who inspires Barbara?

The 4 Stages of Sacred Success:

  1. The call to greatness
  2. Receive and surrender
  3. Disciplined action
  4. Modeling greatness by leaving a legacy

Barbara’s Words of Wisdom:

  • Do what you fear.

Let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment. Have you ever felt like you were reaching the “burnout point” in your business or career despite the fact that you love your work? Have you noticed your business skyrocket beyond your imagination, becoming highly successful and being invited to amazing events, engagements, or projects, but caught yourself wanting to spend time sipping wine in front of the television instead of doing the tasks you’ve been asked to perform?

Perhaps you’ve questioned whether you’ve slipped into the “Imposter Syndrome” even though you are consistently providing high-quality work.

Many high-achieving women around the world feel this way – especially when they are up-leveling in their business or career. This is not a case of Imposter Syndrome, nor are you going through a burnout phase.

Instead, you are outperforming your self-image.

Rest assured, many women experience this – sometimes multiple times throughout their careers.

Today, I want to share with you the story of when I was outperforming my self-image, how I felt it was affecting my work and the quality of my work, and how I overcome this obstacle.

“Confidence is the belief that you are up to the challenge.” – Eleanor Beaton

Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:

  • Up-leveling in your business or career can significantly challenge your self-worth. Don’t fear it. Embrace it.
  • Your ego is meant to protect you – to keep you safe – but it can’t tell the difference between an animal attack and criticism.
  • If your self-worth is not matching up with your quality of work, your skills, your life, and your business, you are going to experience problems.
  • You are capable of greatness, but you have to align your self-image with your potential.

If you are serious about aligning your self-worth with your potential, and to truly step into your fierce, feminine power, I encourage you to reach out!

If you want to learn what it takes to align your self-image with the incredible underlying potential you have as a Fierce Feminine Leader, visit EleanorBeaton.com/Discover and apply to my Feminine Mastery Discovery Session!

Aug 8, 2016

Have you ever found yourself going into a meeting with the intention to stay quiet and observe what others are doing, listening to what your colleagues and peers are saying, instead of speaking up and asserting your own opinion? This is common with many women in business.

“Women are often less likely to speak up, to step into their power, because they feel their perceived competence and compensation may take a hit.” – Eleanor Beaton

Madeleine Albright, in 1993, was heading to her first Security Council meeting as the new U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. with the intention of staying quiet throughout the meeting to observe her male counterparts. To figure out “who was who” and identify who she could consider as an ally. She quickly discovered, however, that by not asserting her opinion, by merely observing others during this meeting, she was positioning herself – and the United States – to not have a voice in the important topics being discussed. She realized that she represented the voice of the United States.

“When it comes to influencing power, voice matters.” – Eleanor Beaton

If you have experienced this desire to be a spectator at a meeting, to remain quiet instead of stepping into your power at the boardroom table or meeting with clients – know that you are not alone. But, remember, without speaking up, your views, your opinions, your amazing ideas cannot be heard or discovered!

So, how do you find and assert your voice?

Here’s a Breakdown of Today’s Show:

  • Sometimes our voices are silenced by ourselves.
  • Women are often less likely to speak up, believing that our perceived competence and compensation can take a hit.
  • Interesting statistic: of the top-ranked podcasts on Stitcher, 71% of podcasts are hosted by men while only 11% are hosted by women. This is despite the fact that over half of all listeners are women.

How to Master the Art of the Set-Up:

  • Be bold. Be assertive. Be professional – “I’m going to be very blunt, and it may be difficult to hear, but it is critical that I offer some specific feedback.”
  • Choose to link your directness to your underlying values – “Honesty and integrity are important to me, so it is vital that I express my opinion directly.”

My Challenge to You:

  • Lean into your power.
  • Speak up, even when it may be difficult for others to hear.

Have you ever felt that nagging ball of nerves in the pit of your stomach when you want to ask your boss for a raise, but you’re too nervous to actually confront him and ask for it? Or perhaps you’ve thought about talking to a loyal client about increasing your rates, but have put it off for months because you’re simply not sure about how things will turn out or are simply too nervous to “go for the ask.”

You are not alone. In fact, thousands of high-achieving women would rather make less money or go without things they truly want instead of facing the tense moment of asking their boss, their client or voicing their strong opinion on a situation or topic they feel passionate about.

Today, ladies, I want to share with you a few stories on how not taming the tension can help you grow as a person and a professional and why you should get comfortable with it in your business and your life.

Make tension your best friend.
